CLIENT TESTIMONIAL OF THE MONTH

I settled on Nexpand Pro, and though I calculated that I only needed two boxes, I ordered four and received my order promptly in just a few days.  I had already drilled the marble block before the Nexpand arrived and even though I had ordered the grout for cold weather applications, I wanted to be ready to use it as soon as it came and stay ahead of the incoming colder weather and snow.  As can be seen in some of the photos, I drilled six holes along the top and one hole on each side about halfway down and on a thirty degree angle.  I core drilled all the holes to just 15" deep even though the block is 37" thick and 63" across.  I poured the grout as the sun was setting and the next morning anxiously went to the block to check progress.  Nothing! I touched the grout and was surprised to find it it felt like wet clay, "This stuff is never going to work!", I thought. Disappointed, I checked again a few hours later and noticed a hairline crack across the top and halfway down the side. "This stuff does work!" Amazing! As you can see in the photos, the grout continued to work, and after a couple days it was completely separated and I now have two smaller blocks, one about 10,500 pounds and the other about 8,500 pounds. I can now hire a logging truck without the expense of a crane, and economically transport the smaller block to a local stone cutting shop with a diamond wire saw to be able to get the best out of this stone. Nexpand has become the 'David' hero in this story against 'Goliath". - John Schweighardt, Living Stones

WORK PROCESS

Three Simple Steps: Drill, Mix, Pour!
1
DRILL

Select the right drill pattern for your rock or concrete breaking project and hop to! Make sure the holes you drilled are spaced the right distance apart and clear of any debris before moving on.

2
MIX

Ensure that the expanding grout is mixed consistently. For every 11lbs bag of grout, use 1.5L of cold water and make sure you pour the consistent slurry within 10 minutes of mixing.

3
POUR

Pour the expanding grout into the holes of the drill pattern you used. Take a break, grab a cup of coffee, maybe watch a couple of episodes on Netflix...come back the next day and the rock will be cracked! (It takes roughly 4-24 hours for rock to break, depending on the type of rock.

WHY EXPANDING GROUT?

Nex-Pro & NexPand

WHAT IS THIS STUFF

Nex-Pand Pro is an expanding grout developed by our own team of experienced professionals. It has been tried, tested and proven to be stronger than the other expanding grouts on the market and it is very competitive in price. Nex-Pand Pro follows a simple methodology where all you need to do is mix the grout with water, pour the slurry into holes drilled in the rock or cement and then wait for it to work its magic.

Mixing the Nex-Pand Pro with water creates a chemical reaction that causes the slurry to harden like cement and then expand. As it continues to expand it puts increasing pressure on the rock it has been poured into and the rock cracks once the pressure of the Nex-Pand Pro overtakes the rocks density. For softer or less dense rock it takes about four hours to crack and harder rock takes around twenty-four to forty-eight hours. The NexPand Pro when coupled with an appropriate drill pattern is great for renovations, small or sensitive rock breaking jobs and large jobs that need an immense amount of pressure.

WHERE DO I START?

Start with planning your project! It’s important to know your drill pattern before you purchase your product. The drill pattern will depend on what you are breaking and how small you want to break it into. We recommend that drill holes are made 1 foot apart with a diameter of 1 1/4” - 2”.

Once you know how many holes you are planning to drill then we can figure out how much expanding grout you’ll need to get it done. Each 45 pound box of our grouts do 35 lineal feet of holes, and the 11 pound boxes do about 8. Use our product calculator for a quick and easy way to find out how much you’ll need. Just put in the dimensions of your project and it will let you know just how much you need!
